sanctions checking

Question

Hi all,

Im going mad with posts this morning!!

Does anyone have a problem with the sanctions checking module on open gi?

According to what ive been told, it should automatically do a sanctions check on each client before the renewal is due each year, but for some reason our system does not do it. Any ideas?

Also, we use APM, but have a problem where if we have an existing client and then use the info from this by transferring it to apm for a new quote, if we then transfer it back to brooms as a new policy, it doesnt do another sanctions check. Ive been told by OGI that this is right, as it will only do it if any of the level 1 info has been altered, but to me this isnt the correct way for it to work, as if the first policy was done 3 months ago, the client could have been added to the sanctions list since, so it should be checking them again.

Anyone have any thoughts or feedback on this?

Hi Nigel

As far as I am aware you should be regularly rechecking your book. To do this, you need to set the overnight batch sanctions check as part of your overnight process. You can set parameters you require in broker amendment (I think including max number of records to check per night/how often to recheck each client).

Your second point should be irrelevant if you are running the rechecks as above.

Thanks

Karl

I thought the sanctions checking was supposed to be automatic, but according to what you are saying it is only automatic at the point of transfer, is that right?

How often do you check your book?

Kind regards

You should have #96 in Prospect Control so all new prospects are checked when created.

You can also set under #97 to also check when converted.

Also, #98 is where you set how often you want prospects rechecked during batch checks.

We recheck all clients every 30 days.

    • December 2018 Welcome to Issue No.40 First off, let's start by acknowledging what a great year it has been for the User Group.  We've improved again our relationship with the key operators within Open GI and at the same time been able to make a real difference to our Members. Our recent AGM saw us welcome in a new Vice-Chairman, Tracey Filtness of Coast Insurance.  Tracey has been on the Committee for a number of years already and her knowledge, experience and cool head under pressure will really benefit the Executive.  Full details of your Committee can be found in this Newsletter should you ever want to contact us directly! The AGM was tied into this year's Members Day which I feel was the most successful one I've been involved in so far.  Hat's off to the long suffering Barbara Pena, who once again pulled the rabbit out of the hat and chose the perfect venue for the event.  There's a recap of the day in the Newsletter, so check out what made this event so special. Also, take a moment to see the benefits of Membership, with exclusive discounts from the Open GI Sales Team.  Maybe now is the time to upgrade your system and get some advice from other Users on our Forum.  That's just another great reason to sign up for Forum Access, here. • Hi Pete,   We use Truckwriter, and it has never prompted us, they just run out !. having said that while we don't do bucket loads of CV business on EDI, majority of our providers have set the number range at 999999. Is it by any chance Aviva that needs them doing ?, as last week we had to "TRY" and update and issue some new Aviva policy numbers (first time for years) and we still are trying to sort it !, the Truckwriter POS software was confused, all messed up, Aviva didnt know how top reset using RMA commands.   And agree with Mark, it is not connected with Open Suite, it must just be a coincidence.   Happy days.
    • Hi Pete   Don't know the specifics for TW products as I'm not a low level user operationally   I'll nudge @Philr as he is a top bloke on these things and hopefully he can clarify   PS - I'd be surprised if this is anything to do with OpenSuite as they're not related
    • Hi Guys   on PC policys  the signons will get warnings about the certs going low  giving me time to ring/email the insurers asking for release numbers  before running out.  But on TW (Truck Writer) OpenGI are saying that no warnings for certs and you will only find out when your out.  I cant remember this happening before we upgraded to 5.82
